Can you get deported even if you have a German work visa?

Non-Germans require a residency permit in order to remain in Germany; thus, temporary permits are given to foreigners while their applications are being processed. They lose their right to stay in Germany if their applications are denied, especially if the reason is crime, and must depart by a specified date (no longer than six months). If the time limit has passed, they may be deported to their home country.
